Yep, you read that right.
FORTY-EIGHT pounds in 75 days.
Some people didn't believe me, but that's because we live in a "picture or it didn't happen" day in age. So, see for yourself...
It’s really hard to share this before and after picture, so please be kind. Quarantine, stress, depression and anxiety did me in and I needed to get myself back. I hope that by putting this all out here, it’ll hold me accountable and maybe even help someone else feel motivated that they can get out of that hole too.Want to see the transformation in live action? But how, HOW did I do this seemingly insane and unattainable thing? Heard of 75 Hard?
Andy Frisella’s 75 Hard. A true tactical guide to winning the war with yourself. It's 75 days of:
- Follow a diet (any diet you choose, but you have to follow it exactly)
- Drink a gallon of water (you can't add anything to it either, just straight up H2O)
- NO ALCOHOL. I know, this one hurt me too.
- NO CHEAT MEALS (Yes, even at your kid's birthday party or work happy hour).
- Two 45-minute workouts (one has to be outside no matter the weather)
- Take a daily progress picture.
- Read at least 10 pages of a professional development or self-help book. (Once you start a book, you have to finish it...can't stop if you hate the book 10 pages in).
But I had hit a point where something had to change. I was tired of being tired and winded. I wanted to be better for myself and my children. Better for my partner. I felt like it was now or never, so I jumped. And I faceplanted right into one of the most challenging experiences of my life.
And I would do it all over again if I could. Over and over.
[x] After 75 days of ZERO cheat meals and not a drop of alcohol (even on special occasions and trips!) - after pushing myself on the hardest days, I finally finished. 🏁
[x] 150 workouts - 116 of which were outside regardless of whether it was raining, snowing or glowing with sunshine.
[x] Over 300 miles (including my first 4-miler race!) and got myself in the top 14% of users on MapMyRun.
[x] 75 days of intermittent fasting and following macros within a calorie deficit.
[x] Over 75 gallons of water.
[x] 75 progress pictures.
[x] 9 books read.
[x] 48 pounds lost.
After 75 days of putting in the work, putting in the hours and miles and sacrifice, I found me again.
I am stronger, wiser, healthier and so much happier. It’s like you are competing in an Ironman for confidence, grit, endurance, fortitude and self-esteem. It really can change your life.
When I first started, I couldn’t walk two miles and was clocking a 22+ minute mile. Now I am doing roughly 6 miles a day and blowing that time out of the water. My stretch goal was to do a full 3 miles in 45 minutes and by the end, I made it to 3.16 🎉 I realize this is slow for many, but it was really a huge accomplishment for me, especially given where I started.
I am down 48lbs and while I am happy to see a smaller number on the scale, I got so much more from this experience than that. I have so much more confidence in myself as an individual. I can push through on the hard days and still do what needs to be done, even if it feels impossible. I have such a different perspective on life and on my relationships...especially the one I have with myself.
There is ZERO cost to this program. It's free.
You don't have to join a gym or order fancy diet meals...no gimmicks or crash diet fads. You just have to put in the work.
Still on the fence about how you can make this work? Stay tuned because I have tips and tricks to break each step down into something totally doable. Promise. Keep in mind, I work full-time (remotely for now) and have three young kiddos at home (10 and under).
You can do this. You are the only one who can make this change in your life. You just have to get started. There is no perfect time.
You ready?
